FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS FOGA?

FOGA is a brand for people who are too busy to eat the way they would like to.

We use low invasion processes to make natural and nutritious foods fit into busy lives.

WHAT IS A PLANTSHAKE?

Think of a plantshake as an instant smoothie. It has all the nutrition, all the flavour and all the texture of a smoothie you would make in your blender. The big difference is you don’t need your blender!

HOW DO I CHANGE MY ORDER?

Subscriptions are meant to make your life easier, not harder so we’re trying to make it as easy as we can to make changes.

We’ll contact you 3 days before your subscription is due to renew. You can log in to your account, reply to the email, text or whatsapp us to make any changes you need. We can change, pause or cancel your order any time before 5pm on the day before the renewal.

HOW DO I CONTACT YOU?

We’re people. You can get us in all the ways you might speak to your friends.

We’re always available between Monday – Friday 9-5, but we’ll do our best to come back to you as soon as possible outside these hours.

WHAT DO I DO WITH THE PACKAGING?

Our boxes & paperwork are fully recyclable. The pouches are technically recyclable, but it’s hard so unfortunately most authorities won’t. Instead, you can send back your used pouches to us and we’ll turn them into eco-bricks. If you send them back in your box, we’ll continue to re-use it as many times as we can.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

£1.99 – £2.75 per plantshake depending on how often you order.

You always get a free shaker included in your first full box.

CAN I GIVE THIS AS A GIFT?

You’re in luck. Plantshakes make an excellent gift. After all, who wouldn’t want the gift of health!

Place an order for a one off box or subscription and put the recipient’s details as the delivery address. Don’t worry – we don’t put any price details in the box.

HOW LONG DOES DELIVERY TAKE?

We’re not quite Amazon yet, but we’re trying our best!

Orders placed before 5pm are sent out the next working day and the Royal Mail normally take 24hrs to get them to you.

Orders that include a shaker are not letterbox friendly but all other boxes will fit through your letterbox – no more queuing with that annoying red slip!

IS IT JUST DEHYDRATED FRUIT?

No, we use a different process called freeze drying which takes out the water of flash-frozen plants while retaining all the nutrition, the cellular structure, taste and colour. It’s what NASA use to feed the astronauts!

IS IT AS HEALTHY AS FRESH?

Absolutely. Freeze drying locks in all the nutrition from the moment our plants are frozen – shortly after being picked. Click below to learn more – there’s academic studies and everything.

DOES IT COUNT TOWARDS MY FIVE A DAY?

A portion of fruit & veg is 80g. Our pouches have the equivalent of about 150g of plants, so yes – each is about 2 of your 5 a day.

WHAT DO THEY TASTE LIKE?

They are delicious, in my humble opinion!

Compared with a ready to drink smoothie, you’ll find plantshakes less sweet, because we don’t use the juices that they use. Freeze drying retains all the flavour and texture, so you shouldn’t know the difference between something you’d make yourself.

We worked hard to make a real range of delicious flavours so you don’t get bored and have a real diversity of plants in your diet.

DO YOU HAVE ANY WITHOUT BANANA?

We have one recipe without banana – our Beetroot & Berries Protein. We’re working on creating more, but banana helps to make it thick and delicious.

HOW MANY CALORIES?

They are about 100 calories when made with water, they vary in a range from about 90 – 125. Make them with milk (whichever you like) for a more filling snack with a few more calories.

Full nutritional info on recipe each is available below.

HOW DO I MAKE THEM?
  1. 250ml of water or your favourite milk (check the pack for which we recommend).
  2. Add a full plantshake pouch.
  3. Shake vigorously, then let it rest for 30 seconds for the plants to rehydrate.
