WHY THESE INGREDIENTS?

Organic Freeze Dried Bananas (Peru & Dominican Republic)

Prebiotic bananas make our plantshakes rich and creamy, and they are full of resistant starch which feeds our gut microbiome and keeps our guts happy. We all know that bananas are high in potassium and magnesium, but did you know they could also make us happier? Bananas contain high levels of tryptophan, which the body converts to serotonin – the happy hormone.

Organic Pea Protein (Austria)

We love pea protein because it’s made from the yellow split pea, a high-fiber legume that boasts all but one of the essential amino acids. We use a pure, unflavored pea protein with no additives, stabilisers or sweeteners.

Roasted & Defatted Peanuts (US)

We source high oleic peanuts from the US, which are high in fat, high in protein & high in flavour. A great source of mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids which are often referred to as heart ‘healthy’ fats. They also contain all 20 amino acids needed to make a complete protein, and are high in fibre. The peanuts we use have been roasted and then defatted to remove excess oil. Peanuts are a great source of energy, and have a low GI (Glycemic index) which means that the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream is slower, and the energy lasts for longer. They are also rich in bioactive compounds such as niacin, folate, vitamin E, potassium and magnesium.

Organic Maca Powder (Peru)

Maca root is an ancient superfood, used for thouands of years by the Incas for improved energy and stamina. Maca root is nutritionally dense with all the essential amino acids to make a complete protein, contains iron which can help reduce tiredness & fatigue, a source of Vitamin B, as well as contain zinc, magnesium, calcium & potassium. And to top it off, it tastes like malted caramel.

Organic Lucuma (Peru)

Lucuma is a peruvian superfruit that is packed full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals such as calcium, beta-carotene , zinc, iron, vitamin C, niacin (B3), and fibre. Its naturally sweet flavour makes it a delicious addition to this creamy, indulgent-tasting shake.

Finely Ground Espresso Powder

The equivalent to a shot of espresso this shake is light on the coffee flavour with just enough to keep us awake, energised and ready to smash our day!

Organic Ceylon Cinnamon (Sri Lanka)

There is no need to attempt the cinnamon challenge to reap its health rewards. We’ve done the work for you. As well as being a tasty spice, cinnamon is great for transporting blood sugar from your bloodstream to your cells.

Organic Rice Powder (Vietnam)

We refused to use any fillers, preservatives or ‘anti-caking’ agents in our products to help them mix better. So we add a pinch of organic rice husk to absorb moisture to stop the natural powders from clumping together. It also adds a boost of extra natural fibre. There is 0.5g of organic rice powder in each serving.

WHY OUR NUTRITIONIST LIKES IT

I love this plantshake. It is absolutely delicious. It’s got a decent amount of folate (important for everyone to help fight fatigue – particularly important for pregnant women) as well as loads of b-vits. This should provide a natural energy boost and the protein will support muscle recovery while keeping you feel fuller.
